Our new Assembly Station has 3 perfectly crafted wheel holes, allowing for a standard wheelbase or extended wheelbase assembly. Once you've put the first two wheels and axles into your car body, flip the car over and place the wheels in the custom-engineered wheel holes. The tray will hold your car upright without putting pressure on the axles you've just inserted! The Assembly Station is a fraction of an inch thicker than a Pinewood Derby wheel and accounts for the ideal wheel spacing. Plus, it will hold your car upgright while you drill weight holes - just flip it over and you can use it as a sacrificial backer board to prevent drilling through your car and into your table.
The PRO Axle Remover and Inserter Tool
The PRO axle remover/inserter tool helps your to easily remove and insert pinewood derby axles when building your car. One end of this tool is used to insert axles and the other end is used to remove axles.
This handy tool removes and inserts axles without damaging your wheels or axles (or your fingers!).
The remover end is designed to fit perfectly under the axle head. It slips under the axle head making it a snap to remove axles.
The other end has a recessed cavity that fits perfectly over the axle head to give you leverage to insert pinewood derby axles.
The Axle Remover and Inserter Tool is essential for Ultra Lite wheels, which are thinner and can easily break if you try to removing them.
The PRO Wheel Spacer Tool
If your wheels are too tight, your car slows dramatically. If they are too loose, your car wobbles, also slowing your car down.
The Wheel Spacer is a "feeler gauge" that sets the exact spacing between your wheel hub and car body so your car wheels spin fast, all the way to the finish line.
Just slide the Wheel Spacer over your axle and push the axle in until it is snug against the Wheel Spacer. Remove, and voila, perfect spacing.
