Polished Axles
No
need to sand, debur, file and polish your axles.
We did the hard part for you!

Burrs removed on axle shaft
- You must remove these burrs of they will grind inside the
wheel bore.

Crimp marks removed from underside
of head
- Crimp marks must be removed or they will grind into your
wheel, like ABS brakes!

Nail head is cut back at an angle
- Angling the head reduces friction where the head meets the
wheel.

Polished
- The nail is then polished to remove imperfections. However,
these nails are not as good as our Speed Axles above...we
recommend a light polishing using our axle polishing kit below
to get maximum performance.

Not all wheels are created equal
Why a matched set?
BSA manufactures wheels from 18 different molds, numbered 1 to 18
(#6 and #7 are not used because the mold is worn out). The wheels
in your kit can be from any of the 16 remaining molds.
Problem is, each mold is slightly different. Wheels can have slightly
outside diameters, different bore sizes, hubs and tread characteristics.
When every milisecond counts, you want each wheel to be exactly the
same because small differences will make the car slightly off balance
affecting speed. Just like the car you drive, your wheels should be
"balanced" to get optimal performance.
Pinewood Pro Matched wheel sets contain four wheels, each from the
same mold to give you optimal performance, balance and speed.
