How to apply dry-transfer decals to a pinewood derby car:
Dry-transfer decals are easily applied by simply rub the paper backing with a dull object. Your car will look like someone painted a custom image on your pinewood derby car!
- Apply to a clean, dry, dust-free surface only. Position decal and hold carrier sheet firmly in place.
- Rub with anything that does not have sharp edges, for example, a pen top, dull pencil. Do not rub too hard when transferring.
- When you see that the image has transfered from the paper backing to your car "gently" peel back the paper backing.
- If the transfer was incomplete, let the sheet fall back into place and continue rubbing the paper backing to transfer the rest of the image.

Tips & Hints
Lighter wheels turn easier (they require less inertia). Lighten your wheels, as much as your Rules allow, which will give you a fast start out of the gate and faster speed down the track.
When lubing your wheels and axles, shoot graphite powder into the wheel bore, spin your wheels, and repeat. Do this over newspaper in your garage or outside the house.
A warped block is ok, as long as your axles are square to the block. Use the PRO Driller Tool to drill perfectly straight axle holes which insures your car will roll straight.

Using the tips on your website, Daniel's car won every race for his den, and won the district races. It seemed that his car got faster with every run. We have memories that will last.
This is my son's first Derby car as a Tiger Cub Scout. We had a lot of fun working on this together. Even though he didn't place it was a rewarding experience. Next year we plan to build something even more unique and perhaps a little more challenging. Thanks for a great web site!
